my 1st jakarta trip


follow SR to Jakarta...she work, m shop ;p enjoy? THAT'S FOR SURE, ENJOYED! kekeke... eat, sleep n shop! branded in indo NEVER CHEAP! please do remember to take their "blue taxi" safe n well known.

Crabi told m that m in Kuey Paradise... mmm... unsure... but m love their KUEH LAPIS, NASI GORENG N SIOMAY (STEAMED YONG TAU FOO WITH PEANUT SAUCE), so yummmyyyyy... drooLLLLL m also notice, those foodies in ex restaurant, do not taste that wonderful...

Solaria (plaza semanggi shopping mall)
  • nasi goreng is wonderful n with value price  

Waraku (Grand Indonesia Shopping Mall)
  • ebi tempura  is SUCKZZZ, not fresh + too much flour! 
  • the coffee jelly ice cream is lovely, must try!

King's Siomay Bandung (Mangga Dua, entrance of the mall, reasonable price)
  • nice nice yong tau foo

Keyaki (sari pan pacific hotel, reasonable price, u pay what u get! totally diff from the one in SG)
  • nice eel with egg (simple yet i fall in love with it)
  • great fried rice (same as nini's fried rice)
  • cold soba (remember to tell them no wasabi, if u aren't a wasabi's fans)
  • bbq seafood (over cooked, but e seafood is really SWEET N FRESH)

Sushi Tei (Plaza Indonesia shopping mall)
  • wonderful clam with miso soup
  • nice sushi
  • wagyu (too thick, can better)
  • salmon belly (SG seem fresher)
  • average fried rice

Saboga (plaza senayan shopping mall, #03-343C, food court)
  • nice yong tau foo (siomay)

Roemah Rempah (plaza senayan shopping mall, level 4. house of spices with warming + relax ambience, nice chili to spicy your day, but average in foodies)
  • nice coconut rice wrapping with banana leaf
  • spring roll (too thick layers of skin, rooms to improve)
  • nice nice fried kang kong
  • nice lemongrass chicken breast

meeting princess at seoul

2 solid weeks of holiday in Singapore, not working, BUT RESTING n COOKING NEW DISHES! SO WONDERFUL... ;p rest too much had become lazy n FAT! sighhhh....
 
a juicy news to share... princess is joining m to Seoul this Dec! HHHurrrraaayyyyy... a shopping trip, of cox! need to do research.... that's what m hate most!

rate of dried foodies in 2011

ohhhh, goshhhh... CNY dried foodies are getting more expensive...when the date getting nearer, they will increase another 10-15%.
  • 1kg of dried geoduck (象拔蚌) S$220
  • 1kg of dried scallop S$260
  • 1kg of Dried shiitake mushrooms S$60
  • 1kg of 明目鱼 S$180
  • 1kg of dried shrimps S$38
  • a can of calmex (車輪牌)abalone S$120
  • a can of skylight small abalone in collagen broth S$55
 

nice nice simple congee



Ingredient
  • A Dried Geoduck (象拔蚌)
  • 3 Dried Scallops
  • 2 Litres of Chicken Broth or Ikan Bilis Broth
  • a Cup of Rice
  • Mushroom (if u are a mushroom fans)
  • salt n pepper
*soak the rice with a tablespoon of oil n a teaspoon of salt for 30mins before rinse. To be served with coriander and fried onion.

fried veggie



Ingredient
 
  • 300g of spinach (any leafy veg)
  • an egg
  • a tablespoon of scallop oyster sauce (replace oyster or mushroom sauce)
  • mushroom (any kind of mushroom)
  • 2 tablespoons of water
  • salt n pepper
 
simple yet tasty! :)

spicy eggplant fried rice


Ingredient
  •  eggplant (slice or small cubes)
  • a table spoon of chilli paste
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • olive oil
  • half teaspoon of sugar
  • ginger, minced (add if u are a ginger person)
 
*cook the eggplant with the chili paste till semi dry, leave it aside.
  • a bowl of cooked basmati rice (long grained rice)
  • an egg
  • salt n pepper
*after frying the basmati rice, add the spicy eggplant, and fried them together for another 2mins...
 
heard that basmati rice is much healthier than our white rice... every grain of rice just interesting n tasty! simply fall in love with it when m 1st try :p

vegetable soup and broth





Ingredient of vegetable soup or broth

  • 1 Beetroot
  • 3 carrots
  • 2 radishes
  • 2 - 3 onions (most important)
  • 2 - 3 tomatoes
  • 4 - 5 stalks of celeries
  • 4 potatoes skin (potatoes can be used for potato salad)
  • 1.5 - 2 liters of water

All vegetables are to be cut in small cubes. Brewed it 2-3hrs, add salt n pepper when ready to be served.
